TK students will begin receiving homework at the end of September.
Homework serves a variety of purposes. It is meant to be an adjunct to what we are learning in school. Homework helps your child make connections between what we are learning and the real world outside of school. It also serves as a communication tool to let you know what types of things we are studying. It is meant to be an enjoyable experience for you and your child.
Homework consists of a weekly packet. It will be sent home on Monday and is due on Friday. A weekly newsletter will be attached to the packet for you to keep at home. The packets will roughly include a letter and number of the week page, sight word activity, and cut and paste page. I also encourage students to look for an object at home that begins with our letter of the week to bring to our sound museum.
If students turn in their packet completed, they will earn a Kennedy Buck and a clip up on Friday.
Homework is only additional practice with your child and will not affect their report card grade.
